Producer Sandip Ssingh lends his voice for the rap track in the film to add that “personal touch”. Javed Akhtar denies his association with the film as well

After the inception of the film it has attracted many raised eyebrows and have come in contact with praise as well. These days many biopics have made to the limelight of Indian cinema such as Sanju and The Accidental Prime Minister being the forerunner in the game.

The biopic “PM Narendra Modi” first came to notice when the first look of Vivek Oberoi was released as Narendra Modi.

Now it has been confirmed that producer Sandip Ssingh has lent his voice for the rap in the film called “Namo Namo” to add that personal touch to the song. Sandip has been a known face for his multi talent that he possess and has proved himself as a producer, creative director, singer, and he has also given the idea for the biopic.

The song Namo Namo is a rap by Party G and is a tribute to Narendra Modi for his contribution and efforts towards a better India. The song has been composed by Hitesh Modak. When asked Sandip about being associated with the film and also contributing as a singer for the same he said, “This film is very close to my heart and I wanted to give it a personal touch. What could have been better then singing a rap song for the person we all admire. It’s a very interesting song and I hope people like it.”

As the title of the film suggest, the story will revolve around the making of Narendra Modi through his struggle to his journey of becoming the Prime Minister of India and the challenges thereafter.

Along with this the film has been dragged into controversies as well. The great lyrist Javed Akhtar has denied his association with the film. Javed Akhtar said he was being wrongly credited at the end of the film for writing songs for the film. Later it was explained by Sandip Ssingh that they have incorporated Akhtar’s song “Ishwar Allah” from 1937: Earth in the biopic and therefore they thought they should give the credit to the lyricist of the original song.

“We have taken the songs ‘Ishwar Allah’ from the film ‘1947:Earth’ and the song ‘Suno Gaur Se Duniya Walon’ from the film ‘Dus’ in our film, thus we have given the due credits to respective lyricists Javed Sahab and Sameer Ji. @TSeries is our Music partner,” the producer posted on Twitter Saturday.

On Friday, Akhtar had tweeted, “(I) am shocked to find my name on the poster of this film. Have not written any songs for it.”

Javed Akhtar’s post was retweeted by his wife, Shabana Azmi, and son Farhan Akhtar.

PM Narendra Modi, directed by Omung Kumar and featuring Vivek Oberoi in the lead, releases on April 5.  The film also stars Boman Irani, Manoj Joshi, Zarina Wahab and Prashant Narayanan.
