Mashrafe Mortaza, Bangladesh ODI team captain, has won the parliamentary elections from Narail-2 constituency. Mashrafe won the elections with 274, 418 votes. The captain got a one-sided victory in the elections winning over 96% votes in his constituency.
His competitor Fariduzzaman Farhad got defeated badly and was only able to secure Fariduzzaman Farhad. It was 11th general elections of Bangladesh. The Awami league nominated mortaza for the constituency and the captain announced his entry in the politics in November.
The prime minister shaikh hasina leading the Awami league is supposed to make the government again the third time. Many people argued that Bangladesh election this time would be little different and shaikh will not win that easily. Though people believed that shaikh hasina will somehow form the government and the same is going to happen as saikhhasina wains.
Mortaza had retired from test and t-20 formats already and he is soon going to retire from the ODI’s as well after the 2019 world cup. Some clashes and violence were seen throughout the country during elections. Mortaza specified that no kind violence and clash was seen in his constituency. Well, congratulations to mortaza for his one-sided victory and we will look forward to see him playing the world cup.
