Sonakshi Sinha reverts to the allegation against her of receiving Rs.37 lakhs and not attending the event

Before going into much details let us quickly recap the incident:

Sonakshi Sinha was supposed to participate in an event as a judge. She is also reported to receive Rs.37 Lakhs for the same. Pramod Sharma, the owner of a Moradabad event firm named India Fashion and Beauty Award, paid Sonakshi Rs 28.17 lakh in June (in four installments through electronic transfer) to perform at the company’s award show in Delhi on September 30, 2018. He has also reported lately to spend Rs.9 lakhs for giving commission of two event companies which helped him to get in-touch with Sonakshi and also arrange for her accommodation and travel simultaneously.

However, it has been reported that despite having accepted the payment, Sonakshi did not show up at the event. The company claims that Sonakshi’s absence has caused a great deal of damage to the reputation of the company. According to a report, the spectators present at the show were so annoyed at the actress’ absence that they vandalized the venue.

A case was registered against the actress and the others under Indian Penal Code (IPC) sections pertaining to cheating and criminal breach of trust, police said. An FIR has been filed against Sonakshi and seven others for fraud amounting to Rs.37 Lakhs.

What Sonakshi has to say on the same?

After a case has been registered with the police, Sonakshi’s management agency gave an official statement saying that the organizer of the event failed to make payment to her before the event as it was mentioned in the contract.

The statement read, “As was agreed, the organizer didn’t send return tickets for Sonakshi and her team, despite knowing that she had a shoot the morning after the event,” it further read.
