Uri: the surgical strike was a war movie which was inspired by the recent surgical strike that India and the world witnessed. The film which was released just at the beginning of this year received a warm welcome by the audience at large ad the results were prominent at the Box Office. Actor Vicky Kaushal received a pat on his back for his outstanding performance in the film.

Aditya Dhar who was the debutant director of the film also bagged credit for his part as a director. After the success of the film, it is being hers that the actor-director duo is coming up with their next which is a period drama but simultaneously revolved around war.

The film will be based on mythological character Ashwatthama, the son of guru Dronacharya and Kripi. The film is said to be in a planning stage for a long time, even before Uri. The film will involve a heavy budget and a great screen presence. The film is expected to be released by the mid of 2020. According to a close source, it was revealed to Mumbai Mirror that, “After Uri, the makers wanted to return with something big and interesting. Aditya has been working on this script since a long time, even before Uri released, and when he sounded out Ronnie and Vicky, they immediately jumped on board. The film will be mounted on a big scale and will be shot later this year.”

Currently, Vicky is working for a Karan Johar project named Takth. It has a strong star cast which includes Ranveer Singh, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Alia Bhatt, Janhvi Kapoor, Anil Kapoor and Bhumi Pednekar. Next he will be seen in Shoojit Sircar’s biopic on Saheed Udham Singh.
